China Mobile CMS Rebuild
The Internal CMS Dashboard is a redesigned workflow tool for China Mobile’s service teams. It centralizes customer data, tickets, and operational tasks into a faster, cleaner, and more predictable interface—helping specialists resolve issues with greater efficiency and confidence. The new structure also establishes reusable patterns that scale across other provincial internal systems.
Project Type:
Single Project
UIUX Research & Design
Deliverables:
User interviews & card sorting & IA, high-fidelity UI, Figma component library, design-to-dev specs
Time Frame:
4 Month / Apr 2025 – Aug 2025
Tools:
Figma, Stitch, internal analytics dashboards, developer handoff tools
Outcome
During internal evaluation, the redesigned CMS dashboard improved information retrieval speed by 34% for over 1,000 specialists by optimizing field grouping, table layout, and visual tagging.
The new navigation model and screen templates were adopted as a design standard for provincial-level internal tools, and the Figma library of 100+ reusable UI components helped cut design-to-dev handoff time by an estimated 25%, while keeping behavior and styles consistent across teams.
Why this case only shows a redacted interaction demo?
The dashboard is tightly integrated with China Mobile’s internal systems and real customer data. Because it exposes operational workflows, identifiers, and unreleased functions, the live product is covered by strict confidentiality and security policies.
For this reason, the portfolio only includes a sanitized interaction demo video:
All data (names, numbers, account details) is fully anonymized and replaced with placeholders.
Certain workflows are simplified or masked to avoid exposing sensitive business logic.
The visual structure, interaction patterns, and decision points remain faithful to the real product used by internal teams.
At the moment, the interface is in controlled rollout and used in staff training while we continue to collect feedback and iterate with the product and engineering teams.
Coming Soon: International, portfolio-ready version…
In parallel with the internal rollout, I created a from-scratch, internationalized version of the dashboard specifically for public case-study use.
This version:
Is based on the same research insights and interaction patterns
Uses a neutral, telecom-agnostic visual identity
Supports multiple languages and regional formats
Contains no proprietary data, internal codes, or confidential features
Can be shared safely without violating NDAs or exposing operational details
